Timing cover/seal leak
Hello all, I have been tacking getting my grandfathers truck ('78 350 c10 Silverado) that has been sitting since '96 running. The good news is I got it running and it runs well. Of course as it starts running again prominent leaks from the old seals have formed. I am planning to change the oil pan/timing cover gaskets and possibly replace the crankshaft seal if that is necessary. Is there a write up for this? I know how to pull off the HB but do I have to take the fan off as well and water pump? I plan on doing this with the engine in the truck. Any pointers or a DIY list would be awesome.
By the way I should mention that the leak at the oilpan/timing cover is once every 20 seconds or so. Pretty bad or I would let it go. Thanks Charlie |
