slip joint style shaft

have any of you guys on here upgraded to a slip joint style 2 piece drive shaft? and what were the results, found a local guy that will build me a 3in diameter 2 piece slip style with all 1350 series joints for about 700.00 , new yoke and pinion yoke .

i know Denny's use to build them but they discontinued that model for out style of trucks
