The other times I made deals with public buyers to to the same but had the VIN numbers checked out first to make sure they were not on a hot sheet. So you are doing the smart thing by deciding to take the slower route and ask first wrench later, check it out real good and don't get too attached to that truck it is just some sheetmetal you can find another. Yep I have always been a cautious type and with all the shooting and robberies in my area I'm not risking my life for a truck that I just wanted to check out.
