Leveling

I have a 2005 silverado 1500 and am thinking about leveling it. I have been looking at different kits that you can buy from all different companies. I also know that I could just turn up that torsion bar and level it that way. I was also told that if I put a leveling kit on it, I will have to change the upper control arms as well so I'm not hitting my bump stops. What are some things that ya'll have done to level your trucks and what way am I going to have the least amount of problems with down the road?
