Project Stupid Move - A rebuild for the Boy
For those of you that've followed along on my '67 build thread, the Boy should be a familiar face. You all also know that he's poured his soul into doing the V8 swap into his 1988 S10. He did an NV3500 five speed, 11" clutch and he's got the open diff welded up. The actual conversion was completed several weeks ago but the darn thing would just never run quite right. Last Friday we finally got it sorted out. The timing set didn't get installed right and the cam was WAY advanced. That was an easy fix and the thing flat-out hustles now! Well it did. You see, I was a little worried about how juicy the thing might be, not wanting him to get hurt or anything, so I took for a spin down the road......LITERALLY. I stabbed the gas coming around the corner for home, got TOTALLY sideways, corrected to the steering stops but it was over. I ran it into the ditch hard and wiped the smile right off it's face. Toasted the whole clip and bent the frame. What a D-Bag!! Soooo I thought I'd share my attempt at redemption here. I've already worked a deal with a buddy that's got a frame rack and hope to have it on there this coming weekend. I'll be searching for sheet metal this week. Looks like I'll get my shot at a paint job before I get the C10 ready.
