I had an old truck driveshaft cut down to fit the burb...saved me a couple bucks but it's a bit big at 4" dia., but hey, its stronger
![]() ![]() The old shaft had 1350 joints (plenty for what I'm doing), so I swapped out the yokes on the tranny and axle...just a little bigger ![]() ![]() Pulled out the old two-piece and cut out the carrier mount... ![]() ![]() The offset of the pinion caused the larger dia. shaft to ride against the pass side of the crossmember. I cut out the pass side of the reinforcing lip and moved it outboard 3/4". ![]() Test fit before final welding...good enough clearance all around... ![]() Welded up... ![]() Done deal ![]() ![]()
