Pretty cool stuff, long time back i was driving a 10T crane truck at my work that had a 4 speed and a browning 2 speed splitter, it was an old one with a manual shift lever similar to your setup.

If i remember correct it went like this: start in 1 low clutch and shift browning to high, clutch and downshift the browning back to low then up shift to 2nd and let out clutch, clutch up shift the browning to high, clutch and downshift the browning to low and up shift to 3rd..ect.. .
