Gasket?

There was a gasket between my old power booster and master cylinder, i got a new setup previously and the auto parts store didn't say i needed one then and there wasn't one in ether box so I called and they said it wasn't necessary and if i wanted one i'd have to make one.

I understand there is nothing to seal, i'm probably more concerned about affecting the throw of the lever or possibly vibration.

Tho's who have the know, is a gasket necessary at all?
