Nebraska: Uncovered car cache of 500 classics, clunkers is up for auction
For old-car enthusiasts, Pierce, Neb., is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. A longtime car dealer stashed and warehoused about 500 unsold Chevys (and at least two Fords), some 60 years old or older. This rare assortment of cars and trucks will go on the auction block Sept. 28-29. Some of those vehicles have sat rusting in fields, but others were parked in the dealer showroom. Bidders from at least a dozen countries and across the U.S. have already contacted Yvette VanDerBrink, the auctioneer coordinating the event. "To find this many new, old vehicles is unheard of," she told the Associated Press. "It's like a white buffalo." Here's a sampling of the stash of chrome and rubber.
