The P/s Pump has developed a teltale knocking. Sounds like a loud rocker tap. I can also wiggle the pully about a 1/4" back and forth.

So, Question is this: I'm pretty broke, and it's my only car. Until I can get out to a junkyard or find one somewhere else, can I cut the belt? I'm not sure how the truck would handle without power steering, or if it would hurt the steering box to run without it, but that sounds better than loosing that pulley while I'm driving around looking for a job.
