69 c10 starting problems

I have 69 c10 with a factory 350. When I turn to key it sometimes clicks. Only one click and does not engage. Other times it starts right away. The battery and starter are new. The battery cables are new but the ground is bolted to a bolt that is extended thru the alt blanket that has a nut on it then a washer ,then the ground from the battery and another nut holding the cable on. Is this the best way to attach the ground

Any ideas why this is happening?

Thanks
