I realized something very special today...

...and that is the other thing my truck is to me.

My truck is a lot to me: classic, hobby, powerful tool, connection to my youth, connection to my father. Yet tonight I realized something else.

I watched "The Omega Man" on TCM, one of my favorite movies. The movie was made in 1971, the same year my truck was born or at least, gestating (it's a '72) and nearing its birth. My truck is a connection back to that time in the world.....and realizing that struck me special.

When my truck is running again, I'm going to take it back to where it all began, to where my dad first saw it. That car lot is long gone but a gravel parking lot is still there. I'm going to park it, walk across the street to about where my dad would have stood when he first saw it, and take a picture. I'll post that on here for you guys.
