73-87 Truck of the Month- December

The winner of the December Truck of the Month is Swervin Ervin. Most of Y'all have seen his truck, but do you really know the details? Well here are the facts straight from Mike.

Congratulations Mike! You and your truck are both winners!

Manufacturer: Chevrolet

Year: 1985

How long have you owned this truck?: Since July of 1997

History behind the truck: When I bought it, my plans were to have a nice daily driver with no mods, just a clean stock truck. Well, as we all know, this isn't possible. Now look at it.

Chassis
Suspension type: Dropped 4/6 with all Western Chassis components. Up front with 2.5" spindles and 1.5" coils. Out back I have a 5" flip kit with shackles.

Front Brakes: Factory disc.

Modifications: Too many to list here. I have completely changed about every thing except paint and it's next.

Rear Brakes: Drum

Steering: Completely rebuilt front end with Energy Suspension bushings and a AGR steering box and power steering pump.

Front and rear tire/wheel type: Wheels are American Racings Torq Thrust II's, 17x8's. Tires are Nitto Extreme NT-450's, 255/50R17's.

Rear differential type / Gears: Auburn Gear posi with Richmond Gear 3.73 gears.

Body
Color Scheme: Factory Frost White

Bodyman
Modifications: None at this time. Coming later on.

Interior
Color: Black

Custom Interior Parts: Self built center console/rear speaker box unit. Moved column shifter to console. Bucket seats.

Material: Vinyl and cloth mixture.

Upholsterer: My console was covered by Lail's Upholstery. He also installed the headliner. The rest is factory pieces dyed black. I installed carpet from JC Whitney since it came with the black rubber mat from the factory.

Modifications: A lot.

Steering wheel/Column: I have a Grant #1180 Signiture Series polished billet w/leather steering wheel. The column has had the shifter arm removed and a MSD shift light put in it's place.

Stereo/Speakers/Amps: Pioneer DEH-P8400MP mp3 player head unit. A Pioneer GM-X552 amp for the two Rockford Fosgate 6" midbass speakers mounted in Q-form kick panel enclosures. A Crunch P2200 amp powering two Sony XS-L1236 12" subwoofers in rear built speaker box.

Air Conditioning: Removed.

Instrument Gauges: Installed a full set of Autometer Pro Comp gauges in stock instrument panel, from behind. This includes a 5" speedo, 5" tach, 2-5/8" fuel level, water temp, oil pressure, and volt meter.
