HeavyK20, Good trany on e-bay

I have been studying 205 t-case configurations for a while.

It seems that the SM465 mostly came with the 10 spline output which went into a 10 spline input on the 205. The bigest problem is the 10 spline input has a collar that wears out and creates play. These cases also had the weenie 10 spline front outputs.

Later models (85 to 91, I think) came with a 32 spline output on the 465 and a long 32 spline female input on the 205. See the web page below:

Anyway, I am thinking that the strongest 4 speed setup would be the fine output SM465 and newer style 205. The newer 205 has a different boltup pattern on the front and the tranny to t-case adapter is different. They also had 30 spline front outputs with a flange mount.

Anyway, there is a fine spline 465 on ebay for 100 bucks. It looks like a frickin steal to me.

HeavyK20, did you get your 465 setup yet, this is in North Dakota. You could buy this and change the input on you t400 case to fit it and you would be rock solid.

Disclaimer: I don't know what the hell I'm talking about!

Anyone has knowledge to the contrary? There are 2 t-400 setups, One is a short 32 spine female, the other is a long 32 spline female, but what are the bolt patterns on the front of the t-case? Would this work for HeavyK20? He has a t-400.

good luck
