triangulated 4 Link/air bag Set ups?

Hey chevy friends, I've got an 85 K20. Truck rides super stiff when it isnt freighted. I want to run a custom 4 link setup, I have all the tools to make it right, and the know how to install it, but I'm not sure if it's what I should do. Here's my goal,

I want the truck to ride on the back roads like a car, but tow like a mac truck. Any tips suggestions, or is this even a good idea?
I was figuring I'd run an airbag set up, with shocks not sure if its a good plan or not.

what have you guys done?

Thanks,
Tom
