Okay! We are going to get it driving
My brother, dad and I bought a clean original '66 Big Window SWB many many years ago. It's been sitting untouched or worked on for like 8 years. We are planning on completely resto-modding it into a show truck type deal. We realized we will never be able to restore it so we are going to put it all back together and get it running/driving for a stupid low budget of $1500-2K total.
That will have to include motor, trans, wiring, suspension, wheels and tires, brakes etc. I just don't know if we should leave it 6 lug and hope we can find some nice wheels (20's or 22's) or convert it to 5 lug. I'm looking for an 88-90 Suburban now to get the motor, trans and front suspension off of. We can't weld so the Suburban rear-end is out of the question. Anyway, I am feeling inspired and thought I'd post about it.
