Casting Numbers
Hi, I am new to this forum and I have a question. I just bought a 1970 Chevy C20 from a guy a few weeks ago. He claimed that the engine that was in the truck was a replacement crate 350. I decided to do some looking into some of the casting number on the block and on the intake manifold. The number that I found on the pad on the front of the engine block reads V1215TAR. I tried to search for the number with no luck.
The second number Looked into was cast onto the back of the intake manifold that read L 19. Doing a quick search for that I found that it was most commonly used with 454 big blocks. The third number I found was 3927183 GM 23. Searching for this I found that it is a manifold used on 307 & 327 engines. With that information it leads me to believe that it isn't a 350. Would it be possible for someone to put a manifold from a 307 or a 327 and put it onto a 350? Any insight into this would be very helpful. I will be pulling the motor in a few days so i will be able to look at the rest of the numbers on the block. |
