Post FIRST PAINT JOB, any help will be appreciated

i am about to paint a buddies 80 something cj, interior and all, i have all the equipment that i need and i might even get to use a paint booth, but probably not, he doesnt want a show job, just a tough paint job, which type of paint should i use, how many coats, which type of primer, i have to learn sometime so i fugure it should be on his jeep and not my truck when its ready, any advice, steps, etc will be appreciated, thanks, sean
