restoration on the cheap

So I have a 1987 GMC suburban, I bought it in 1992, it has served as Daily transportation, vacation vehicle. It has pulled campers, boats, utility trailers, and anything else that was hooked behind it. Then when the oldest son turned 16 he started driving it, drove it 6 years. 2 years ago it was caught out in a softball size hail storm, So the oldest son retired it and it sat behind the barn. Being that the body was beat to hell and back I realized that it couldn't get anything out of it even though it does still run great. So 2 months ago I put a battery in it and brought it around to the house and started to work on it, I'm retired and do a little handy man work every now and again plus I have a couple rental houses I do repairs on so I decided to make a dedicated "Home Repair Vehicle". Tired of chasing down tools, saws, ect, when I need them, So i took out the 3rd seat, and build shelving in the back. Wheels, grill, tail lamps were Ebay finds, tires come from the used tire store, the Black in the pictures is Rustolium bedliner paint from wal-mart (the bedliner fills in the dents, so paint and body work in 1 step, LOL) The blue is Valspar Tractor paint, ford blue. and also put in a new windshield, At this point for everything I've spent a little over 650.00, did all the work myself and have a decent looking old truck to haul my tools around with. Also added the decals because I get a kick out of folks faces when they read what they say, LOL.
