1987 1/2 4WD - sometimes wont start

New here so I appreciate all the help.
Normally I may only drive it at most 10 miles a week. It usually will start fine but if I seem to drive it a lot for the day it gradually seems harder to get it to turn over. For example I needed to make a 70 mile trip and at about half way I stopped for gas and when I went to leave it wouldn't start. It sounded like it wanted to turn over but couldn't quite get there. Sat around for about 10 minutes leaving it alone then tried it again and it finally started.
Bad battery? Alternator? Any suggestions?
