What About These Heads?
These heads are:
No. 12558062...98......350..........L31 Vortec, truck, 64cc chambers, 1.94/1.5, 170cc intake port. Time for valves on my current heads, maybe. I have these heads that are pretty "fresh". They were taken to a respected shop and certified ready to install. I'll do that one-on-one again to verify if I get a, "these are good heads to work with" thumbs up or two from you folks. Also, I have a cam that came with the deal (free from a pal) with the markings: 1264 3 23 8300 on the end of the one side of the cam's "bearing circle" (???? I don't know what to call it) closest to the oil pump gear...... .....and an "M" and an "8" on the other half of the "circle". I also got a set of aluminum valve covers, sixteen push rods, and some other stuff. Like these figure 8 deals that I don't recognize. I'd like to put them on the 350 in my truck that has an earlier, possibly late 70's, early 80's (yet unknown year for the time being) that's in there now and running well. I'll likely not use the cam. But I'd like to know if that's a good number-match for these heads and an otherwise mild 350. Also, besides an intake manifold and the obvious head and exhaust gaskets, does anyone have a guess on what else I'll need with this sketchy info?
