sqrlnts Registered User Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: Chandler AZ Posts: 750	how to identify a 6 speed transmission Hello! I am researching 09+ Silverado and Sierra trucks. I am looking for ways to identify a truck equipped with the 6L80 trans. If it has the up and down arrows on the column gearshift does this designate a 6spd? Can I tell from the VIN number? I might add that I am looking online and not in person as for now. Thanks in advance for your help!
