Quadrajet; whether to rebuild?

I'm having trouble starting my 83 dooly and I'm sure it's not the choke. The flapper stays open after I bump the accelerator a couple of times. Is it worth rebuilding? I really don't want to tie up a lot cash in it right now, but I really would like for it to start a little bit easier.
