So I knew I loved the 67-72 trucks and recently picked up this:

Didn't give a whole lot of thought to anything other than a 4x4 was an absolute must, I guess I had a slight preference for a long bed so I could use it to get stuff done and would have preferred a 3/4 ton if I could have found one.

Just kind of futzing around looking at various threads on the $ side and it seems like shortbeds are worth more, and people are even converting 4x4 to 2 wheel drive? I don't think any of that matters for my purposes, but it was counterintuitive for me. Do the 3/4 tons go for about the same as a 1/2 ton long bed in equivalent condition?

Also I read the 71/72 were worth a little more than earlier years - again, counterintuitive to me. Is that just because of the disc brakes?

FWIW, none of this really influences where I'm headed with my truck - I'd probably trade it for an equivalent 3/4 ton in equal condition, but other than that I got what I need. Still I am curious, coming from the muscle car scene so to speak some of these things aren't immediately obvious to me.
