which camshaft?
sometime next year im going to put a new intake carb and cam on/in my engine. im wondering which cam people are using and liking.
im looking at either A. edelbrock performer-plus camshaft 278 intake/288 exhaust duration B. comp cams 270h camshaft 270H Magnum™ is a great cam for high performance driving in street machines. The 270H has a rough idle in small blocks and a noticeable idle in big blocks. This is the largest cam you can use with a stock torque converter. The 270H will not affect power accessories, but should be used with headers and a 4 BBL. carburetor. This is the perfect cam for cruising. (fromthis page) C. crane cams Energizer 272 H10 Good idle, daily usage, off road, highway towing, fuel efficiency plus performance, 2600-3000 cruise RPM, 8.75 to 10.0 compression ratio advised. (50 state legal, pre-computer, C.A.R.B. E.O. D-225-21) Basic RPM 2000-5000 (#3 from here ) which one? or should i use a different one? the engine has headers and hei and will have a edelbrock performer rpm and 600 cfm edelbrock when updated with this camshaft
