Substitute Chassis - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Been trying real hard to find parts for the 4 wheel drive system on my 61 K10. Especially the front. Not having a lot of luck. Been thinking of putting the body onto a newer chassis, mainly because parts will be easier to locate.

I have a 61 K10 Long Step Side. A co worker offered to sell me his 84 Suburban chassis, but the wheelbase is 2" longer than my K10.

Any ideas as to which chassis would work for this swap? This is my first so I'm looking to the experts for advise.
