the shackle side of the spring, in the stock location is where the new shackle mounts. and turned pointing down. basically if you turn the shackle up side down in the mount its in its equivilent to the shackle flip. you saying relocating the axle you mean the pinion angle is changed correct. yes the pinion angle is changed it will need to be shimmed ( with steel shims) to withinn 2 degrees of the transfercase out put. i hope this helps
