It is a nice looking truck either way and if the numbers all match up i wouldn't worry about it. Does it have a raised pad on the roof where the mirror mounts? Does the driver door still have the blue sticker on the frame?
This is very common actually. The parts are not used just last years model parts. Look in our catalogs and you will see 66 model year arm rests for early 67. Once the supply was exhausted, mminus parts for the parts department, the new style part would hit the assembly line. In the 70s GM made trucks called "Bonanza" (sp) package. They were whatever the assembly line had an abundance of to get rid off. You may have one style trim on the outside and another inside etc. All new parts but cleaning out the bin. Alot of times it was just oddball options.
