1965 Chevy c30 1 ton Dually

I have a 1965 chevy c30 1 ton dually that I want to change wheels to a later style. It has 7.00-18 lock ring rims and tires. I bought a 1987 chevy 1 ton for parts and it has front disc brakes. The wheel studs on the truck is 1/2" and the 1987 model wheels use 9/16" studs. Can I get oversize 1/2" lug nuts to make up the difference or would it be better to ream out holes and put in 9/16" studs. The bolt pattern is the same, 8 lug. Next question is can I use the front spindals off of 1987 and convert to front disc, I looked under both trucks and the lower A arm are different where they bolt to the frame. I was wondering if upper and lower balljoints are the same. I am looking to the experts to help me out. Thank's
