Broken Seat Springs

Hey Guys,

After removing the foam (man that was a job) on my son's '69 Bucket Seats, I found that the three springs on the seat back were broken where they attach at the bottom.

Since just the tips are broken, can I stretch the springs enough to re-attach them? It feels like the spring tension would get tighter and make the seat back firmer. I have looked for new "S" springs, but couldn't find anything.

Anyone replaced Bucket Seat springs before, and if so what did you use?

Thanks,

POP
