67/68 steering wheels smaller than 69-72?
I had always thought they were the same size.
I was cleaning out the garage, and I had saved my original 67 wheel to restore. I put a 72 wheel on long ago. It looked smaller to me, so I got out the tape. The 67 wheel was 16-3/8 measured top to bottom and left to right (assuming wheel is in upright - wheels straight position.) The 72 wheel was 16-7/8 from top to bottom but was almost 17-1/4" from left to right. I don't know if that typical of if my wheel oblonged from use??? but still, it's still wider than the 67 wheel. Strange.
