Gauge resistor missing (pic)?

I have the fuel gauge twitching issue ( reads correctly bit jumps around by 2 or tick marks on the gauge ) and have investigated some of the known fixes. One of them is the gauge resistor being broken. On the back of my gauge/cluster, I don't see any place for the resistor, just a big smokin' hole where I thought there would be posts to mount a resistor. Any comments?
