2 questions about setting up new edelbrock carb

Ok i have installed the new 600cfm carb and noticed that on startup it seems to run a little rough
I have the distributor vacum advance on the timed vacum inlet should it be on the constant inlet?
And the other is in reference to the positive wire for the choke where is the best location to connect this I made the mistake of connecting it to the radio wire feed then realized it is not powered while the engine is starting any help will be great
