2WD to 4WD burb' conversion
Let me start with "i need help"!!!, my girlfriend has wanted a 65' suburban for awhile now. Now that my build is very close to completion, i was kicking around the idea to start a build for her. So here's the deal i found a "nice" burb' rather cheap, but it was converted to 4x4 already with an auto trans, me wanting the original equipment setup has me stumped. should i keep this setup and deal with whatever issues come about or use the factory 3/4ton 4X4 setup off a 65 longbed stepside i came across on one of my picks???? i can transport the parts no problem, i can remove the parts no problem, i can even have my good friend, neibor and welder for Michigan CAT do any fabrication and welding work, i can get the suspension parts cheap and good working order since they came off an old fire unit truck that kept the truck in top shape. i just need any info from folks that have done this setup (with long term success)to help me as i wanna get this build started ASAP cuz parts and trucks are gettin low on supply and high on prices... thanks for any input
