61 Bel Air 235 dies when you give it gas

I am having trouble with my 1961 Bel Air... I can't seem to get it to run very good. It is a 235 straight 6 with a single barrel carb. I can get it to idle ok, but when you put it in gear and give it gas it just dies. I have put new: plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, rebuilt the carb, replaced the intake/exhaust gaskets and it just won't run the greatest..

Any ideas?
Thanks
Trevor
