Running Bare Metal

Hey guys,
I've been mulling over the idea of sandblasting my truck, she's about 4 different colors and it's getting old. Problem is I'm not at the stage where paint is on the horizon, and I'm not at all interested in primer or a cheap paint job. I live in the desert, truck is garaged 24/7, and I like the look of some bare metal cars I've seen in the past. Has anyone had any experience running bare metal with our trucks? How difficult is it to maintain?

Jon
