? about running full size spindles on an S10
So, I have a '49 GMC that is being put on a S10 chassis. What I want to do is use a set of spindles from my '79 in order to have the correct bolt pattern to match the rear. I already know that the lower ball joints will need swapped due to the taper difference. What I don't know is what effects it will have.I have heard that taller spindles will lower the roll center and improve handling, is this true?
I plan on getting tubular uppers, so if length changes are needed for the taller spindles that is not a problem. Will also be doing a static drop. The plan is to use Rob's numbers from the Make It Handle thread for the specs. While the front end is apart I will be replacing the box with a 12:1 and possibly a steering quickener. I guess what I am asking is will the taller spindles give me any problems with bump steer, toe, camber, or caster? I want the truck to be drivable for both me and the wife. I have driven all kinds of wandering beasts but she has not.
