Compressor wirng

I have an electrician here wiring my shop with extra outlets, Heat and a future compressor. I'm wiring for a 240v compressor. The electrician wants to know if I want an outlet or a hard wired switch. I really do not know. I'm thinking a twist outlet. Any advice?

Some people are like Slinkies... not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
