no fuse box for certain old trucks?

hi.

i have a 1957 chevrolet 3100 and am looking to rewire most of it.

oddly, i can't seem to find the fuse box.

I think I read someplace that some old trucks did not have a fuse box.
could that be true for my truck?

if it is true, instead of a fusebox, what did they use?

thanks
