Swap in a 465/205
I am going to swap a SM465/NP205 combo from a 71 for my 700R4/NP208 in my 1986 K5. A previous owner installed the current motor a 350 for the stock 305. I have not run the numbers, but I think the 350 is an earlier 2-piece rear seal 350. So, help me run down my list of parts:
I have the 71 flywheel/clutch/pressure plate and the clutch fork I need the clutch pedal assembly and will need to modify the tranny hump. In 1986 what type of clutch setup did it have? mechanical linkage or hydraulic? Will the 71 bell housing work with the newer clutch linkage? or will I need to source a new one? I could probably scour many sources for info but then I wouldn't get to talk with you all. Thanks!
