Introduction

Hello everyone! I’d like to introduce myself to the community. My name is Rick and as of February I am the owner of a 1967 Chevy C20 Custom fleet side. It came from the factory with A/C, Power assist steering, 3 speed TMH-400 hydromatic transmission and a 327 small block V8. It was made at the Fremont Assembly plant in California and presumably spent its entire life in the bay area as I just purchased it from a gentleman in Elmira, California (SW of Sacramento).

It’s a little rough around the edges and has some minor rust issues along the top of the cab and the bed from being parked outside…but hey it’s a truck. Other than that is mostly an all original truck with a few new parts to increase reliability. I've got the engine running reliably so now I'm working on replacing other parts that are going out (power steering gearbox, brake lines are old and cracked, previous owner gave the tires serious curb rash)

I myself am not a mechanic and bought this truck because I love classics and I want to learn how to fix vehicles myself. I was hoping with the help of this community I can learn a thing or two so I don’t have to rely on my mechanic (hes a great guy but labor sure does cut into my tinkering money). I want to be an active member of the boards.

If you live in the Fairfield/Vacaville area of California I’d love to get together and compare notes and trucks!
