TH350 help needed

So a few weeks ago while backing into the garage, the tranny line let loose and proceeded to dump a whole lot of fluid on the new and fairly clean concrete floor.
I repaired the lines, and refilled the system with approx. 4 quarts of tranny fluid. I estimated by the puddle size and figured it would be a good starting point. The stick show an overfull, and as I set out for a drive, now I have a leak on the left (drivers side) of the tranny onto my hot exhaust. I was able to get back home, about 2 miles, and back to the garage, I've still read over the full mark by about 2 inches. I'm puzzled to why I would have a leak on the opposite side as thee tranny lines. Could an too much fluid cause any problems? Is there a vent, or port where in a overfill condition the fluid could come out? Any help is appreciated, as the ole boy is sitting on my garage looking pretty sad, as its back on the 70's here and its been a long winter.

Thanks
Glenn
