New windshield, new rubber, lower corner fit?

I finally got around to installing my new windshield and it went in fairly easy. The glass is new Pilkington, that I picked up at a swap meet from a vendor. The rubber is new from lmc or brothers cant remember which. During searching the forum it seems a lot of people had issues with the cheap rubber but mine seems to fit well, layed down in all the corners. My issue is that the glass doesn't want to fit down far enough into the lower corners. The drivers is very close to being correct the passenger side is probably a 1/2" away from being seated correctly. I used plenty of lube and a rope to install it. I've slapped it in the hot sun till my palms are black and blue, will it seat in with some time and driving? Are the repo windshields just hit or miss on fit quality?
