Bought a 1971 GMC C1500

We took the plunge last night and picked up this 1971 GMC 1500. The truck drives really nice, and overall is in pretty good shape. The cab mounts are on their way and you can see the rockers starting to go from the inside. A few other rust spots but nothing to major. The truck is for my wife and she wants to use it around the house - so I doubt that its ever going to be a show truck. Its pretty well optioned out for a base level truck - with PB,PS and AC. Its not the original engine - but the 350 in there runs strong with no smoke. I have a few projects to tackle:
- rebuild the carb & general service
- adjust rear brakes down a bit
- fix interior lights
- replace valve covers
- re-route the exhaust to the side
- replace front shocks

I am not a huge fan of the wheels and am thinking about going to a rally truck wheel with GMC centers on it. Tires look to be ok - so should be able to swap those over without issue.

Derek.-
