The guy I normally buy my tires from seemed hesitant to put a 31X10.5 on an 8-inch rim. He's recommending a 9.5 inch tire instead. The more I think about it, the less I'm willing to let him push me towards what I don't want, dammit!

I have another option, however, that would save me a lot of money. If it will work, that is. My wife's truck (a 2001 F-150) runs 255/70/R16 tires. I've got a nice set of four tires that came off her truck sitting in the garage. If I could find a 16-inch, 6 lug wheel that would fit my truck, I'd be about $400 ahead since I need to replace my bent steel wheels anyway.

Does anybody know if and/or what factory wheels might match that description? Doesn't Chevrolet make a 16-inch, 6-lug wheel for the newer trucks?
