Brand new to me
Hi Im Chris,
I just purchased a 68 c-10 stepside from my fleet sales manager. the previous owner, his name is skip, is a long time engine builder, and a master tech for ford/ master general ASE. BTW i am a tech for ford also bc that s what breaks down the most and thats where the money in labor is, plus i love it. Well years ago when skip stopped driving nascar he built this truck which was his dads, a 327 .030 out( 331 right) roller rockers, hydraulic lifters dual chains, a basic 300 horse build on 194 heads with the t6 lumps already done, 3 angle valve job 12.5:1 pistons. Simply put a healthy mouse. Hes unsure of the cam as it was an isky the he reground. the trans is a th350 with a reverse valvebody, transbrake, tranny cooler is from a 2003 f350 7.3 liter. the body is absolutely straight but in my eyes has a beautiful patina and not a single dent, even the original grill is blemish free. In 1970 he welded a steel bed floor in and i like it, i can always clean it up and put wood on top. Since i work with Skip, he sold it to me for 500 bucks, and 100 hours of labor on his property clearing brush. The down side is the a rocker has sawed its way into a stud, no problem. But since I do work on the side everyday, I picked up a new customer today who needs a head swap done, the heads ill be taking off a the same setup that i would be repairing, 194 heads( 461 casting) t6 lumps, So ill be puttin on his dart iron eagles and payment will be those freshly rebuilt 194's. Just an intro, sorry for the lack of pictures, saying hi and will be updating everyone and seeking advice when i know ill come to need it. And ill get those pictures up tomorrow. |
