What to do with my exhaust

I am not a fan of the way the previous owner did the exhaust on this truck. We are also eventually going to put a receiver hitch on the back.So I was thinking two options.
1. Will the pipes as the are routed now fit with the hitch? If so I would maybe just get the pipes shortened and have a couple of turndowns installed just shy of the bumper so you can't see the exhaust , or maybe just the very bottom of the pipe.
2. Re-route the exhaust out the side to account for the hitch.

I don't really want to waste money at the exhaust shop - so would like to hear people's thoughts.

Thanks

Derek.-
