kinda wierd

so i hooked up my electric fans last night, they work awesome!!! they really suck!!! haha...but i called the guy that did my harness and he told me the red wire off the harness goes straight to the battery, well i think he was mistaken because when i hooked it up the low fan came on, so i hooked it up to a wire that comes on when the key turns on, well in doing so now when i turn the truck off it runs for about 2 or 3 seconds after i turn the key off....anyone ever see this? (i mean I've seen it on older engines when the timings off) but not on one of these
