Pictures of the connector strap inside the door, by the wing vent

A member requested pictures of the connecting strap/brace inside the door by the wing vent window. This is a ’72 door and you can see the screw hole on the interior of the door and the "U" nut on the inside that the screw goes into. The strap is usually broken and this allows the door to spread apart in this area and creates a gap between the vent window and the outside of the door. The screw that was added to the ’72 doors prevented this from happening. You can see that this strap is cracked (3rd pic) even with the screw, but the screw still held it together....The door has to be partially disassembled to repair the strap if it is broken. LockDoc
