HD lighting harness question

I bought one of the HD headlight harnesses a year ago or so from VH Coachworks and am just now getting around to installing it. I have an email into him but see from his sales thread there may be some issues there. Anyway, my question is whether or not the drivers side original headlight connector can simply be cut off and splice the tan and green (i think those are the colors) together so they run to the passenger side. That way i can eliminate the drivers side original plug and tidy up the wiring a little bit. It is a very high quality harness and it will be great when done.
